How to Wear Head Scarf Without Damaging Your Hair Cut

Women in Headscarf

Some women are very worried if disturbed and damaged hair pieces, especially if it makes their hair damaged and dull. Therefore, you should use a head scarf in a way like in the picture above and give a little air space in order not to hot on the scalp.

  2. Hi, yes its Ok to tie the scarf loose like these girls but you then get trouble with slippage. I wear headscarves a lot and like to tie them snugly so they don't need adjusting all day. From a practical point of view, these girls are models and probably only wore their scarves for a few minutes during the shoot.

  5. Hi - I have an online business where I sell headscarves, and one of my favorite styles is what I call my RetroGlam scarves. These are silky scarves worn the way Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe would have worn them while riding in a convertible. The best way to keep these on, I've found, is by wearing a light weight cotton scarf liner underneath. I make them using 100% cotton gauze, cut with pinking shears into a square approximately 25 - 28". Fold into a triangle, arrange so that the scarf sits just above where the ear meets the head, then tie just below the occipital bone at the back of the head. Now slip your silk (or silky) scarf on top and tie as desired. You'll see less 'slippage'.
